Mad Dog Movie Reviews
Mean Girls (2004)
(4 Mad Dogs)
Directed by: Mark S. Waters (He directed the romantic comedy “Head over Heels” and yes I don’t remember that either)
Starring: Lindsay Lohan (the star of many un-pure thoughts in my head) as Cady (pronounced Katie) Heron and Rachel McAdams (Shotgun Love Dolls? I swear I didn’t make that up) as Regina George.
Forget the review for now, the reason why I watched this movie is because A) I wanted to see it so bad and B) it was available at my local Hollywood video as part of a 3 for $30 DVD promotion. I bought some action flicks to make it look like this was for a girlfriend or sister but I knew in my heart that it was for me and I couldn’t wait to watch it. My one problem is that after going out in public and risking humiliation, would it be good?
In a word yes, its sort of like Heathers (another favorite of mine) except no one dies in the end. The story follows Cady on her first day of school, which happens to be in High School because she had spent the past 13 years in Africa. Luckily she is hot and she quickly becomes friends with two outcasts (who are of course the good guys) and with the bitchy queens of the school. She then goes on to like Regina’s Ex-boyfriend but while trying to get with him Regina decides to go back to him. This causes Cady to get revenge as she enlists the help of the outcasts and hilarity ensues.
It was predictable but it was enjoyable at least, definitely worth watching. Or buying with some action flicks as part of sale.
