Mad Dog Movie Reviews
Ong-bak (2003, released in America 2004)
(4 Mad Dogs)
Directed by: Prachya Pinkaew (he produced “999-9999”, Thailand’s version of “Final Destination”)
Starring: Tony Jaa (He was stunt double in “Mortal Kombat 2”) as Ting and Petchtai Wongkamlao (from “Killer Tattoo”) as Dirty Balls, yes I said Dirty Balls!
Do like Muay Thai fighting? Jackie Chan flicks? Subtitles? Guys named Dirty balls? Ok, how about no CG no cables just pure action and no hold barred martial arts? If you answered yes to any of these, well besides the Dirty Balls question, see this movie! Honestly I hated this movie while watching it. It was dumb and it seemed just like a Jackie Chan rip-off. Then this scene came up and I knew that this was an instant classic!
I know you are wondering what this is a picture of, so I will explain. In the final fight scene Ting is just kicking the crap out of this guy, but he is not down. This guy does his best Jason Giambi impression and sticks himself with four steroid filled needles. These fast acting needles increase his strength and, well I don’t really remember the rest because this scene just melted my brain! If you are a fan of the genre go to the theater, if you are a fan of nonsense wait for video.
