Mad Dog Movie Reviews

Friday the 13th: A New Beginning (1985)

(1 Mad Dogs)

In the 5th installment of a franchise that had peaked at 3 (ok fine maybe 4 was just as good as 3), this is like the Halloween 3 of the Friday the 13th series. except that I kind of like Halloween 3 and I downright despise this movie.

In this adventure we see little Tommy Jarvis (played by Corey Feldman in 4 and seen for a moment in this one) is grown up and the trauma from his Jason experience has led him to a looney bin. While there some of the kids start getting the axe...literally and it all builds up to a final fight between Jason and Tommy, or does it?

Ok, I am going to ruin this one for you just so I can explain my first paragraph **SPOILER** the killer in this is not Jason but an ambulance driver for the wacko farm!!! Just a regular old guy who can withstand getting hit by a truck, have his arm nearly cut off by a chainsaw and enjoy a knife in the leg without a problem.

this movie had some nice nudity but not enough, some splatter but less than acceptable gore and NOT THE REAL JASON!!! Because of these facts and the fact that the movie is downright boring i can not recommend this episode of the series. Avoid at all costs unless you are a masochist.
