Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (2007)
(3 Mad Dogs)
All of your favorites are back and after the last two no one could have expected anything less than a spectacularly fun movie to wrap up everything and it was fun but was it any good? Yes and no unfortunately.
After the last movie we are left with everyone's favorite pirate, Captain Jack Sparrow, sent to Davey Jones locker, the East India Trading Company had recovered Davey Jones Heart and there was fear in the air for all piratedom. This movie starts with our gang trying to find a ship and the maps to get to the end of the world and bring jack back to the land of the living and to organize a pirate meeting to put an end to the trading company once and for all. We are left to wonder how they will accomplish all of this and to see who Mrs. Swann ends up with, Mr Turner or Captain Jack! Of course this all has to be accomplished while Davey Jones is on their tail taking out pirates left and right.
The movie was nearly 3 hours long and you feel it. The movie was a bit of a mess with double crosses everywhere and it sort of hurts the film in the long run. Johnny Depp was alright but he was a bit much (and a bit too many of him were in scenes), Orlando Bloom looked pretty but did a horrible job of acting and if not for Geoffrey Rush you would think that everyone mailed it in as he was the only truly enjoyable character in this installment. that being said the action was fun and it is hard to not get excited about sword fights on wave riding pirate ships. It isn't the best one and it may not be a must see in theater but if you think you can last 3 hours it may be worth it for a good time at a popcorn flick.
