Satelite Radio...now 40% cheaper!!!
October 30, 2008

Around this time last year I purchased an XM radio with a "boombox", their description, for a nice price of 35 dollars. Of course this price did not include activation or subscription fees so it should have cost me a lot more. I say should because I ended up getting free activation and 3 months free through the miracle that is the internet.

Fast forward to yesterday. I know have two radios and listen to XM mainly for Ron and Fez and occasionally for O&A, Howard, Baseball and football games and possibly some music. It is just too hard to justify me spending the money on this subscription for one show especially when I can get replays from audible for 25 dollars for the year (plus the 15 a month to get an audio book which I would have done anyway) so I decide to cancel my XM service.

The process itself could not have been more time consuming. Typical say this to do this automated prompts before I could even get a human. Next was the  typical long wait with awful music, I think that with it being almost 2009 if we have all of these other choices to make before human interaction one of them should be to choose what music you would like to listen to...am I wrong here or does everyone else love 30's big band besides me? After 30 minutes of holding finally you get someone but Xm does something extra nice for you and they drop my call as I try to cancel so I am forced to go through the process again! Finally we get the stay tactic that most of these companies do and give you a deal, for me 3 months free XM radio which I happily took since free is better than any other deal I could get and when added to the other 3 months free I have enjoyed my XM radio for 40% off.
